What are benefits of BHRT ?
BHRT makes aging process and its stages more enjoyable & graceful. It’s the backbone to better, optimal health, longevity & better quality of life.
It’s the safest way of replacing depleted or declining hormones. Medicine is evolving, the conservative treatment is disease based & most treatment is based on reducing symptoms. Functional medicine is to prevent and to treat the root cause of the disease. Studies have shown that proper replacement of bioidentical hormones with a healthy lifestyle & proper nutrition holds great promise in slowing the aging process and as a treatment for age related disease.
Are there any side effects ?
As bioidentical hormones are just like the hormones that our bodies were designed to recognise and utilise, their effects are more physiological and consistent with our normal biochemistry with less chances for unpredictable side effects at low replacement doses than with synthetic, non bioidentical hormones. However, regular lab monitoring is advised every 2-3 months and there after every 6 months once levels are stable.
For women an annual mammogram & pap smear is recommended. For men, PSA levels & prostate examination is recommended every 6 months.
How to we know which and how much hormones to take ?
This can be determined after patient goes through a detailed history taking, clinical examination & series of hormonal tests. After reviewing the results the hormones are then prescribed by a doctor who is trained & qualified in this field. A compounding pharmacy then prepares the customized hormones based on a doctor’s prescription especially for you to replenish your declining or depleted levels back to balance.
Everybody is different and everyone needs a specific dose individually prescribed just for them.
Do men require BHRT ?

Anxiety, Depression, Fatigue, Low libido, Erectile Dysfunction, Insomnia , Mental fogginess, Hesitancy, Hair loss

How does one consume BHRT ?
Different hormones have their preferred methods of applications .BHRT can be taken orally in capsule form like Thyroid,Progesterone, Melatonin, Dhea , Hct. Hormones like Testosterone and especially Estrogen when applied topically/ transdermally in gel or cream form which are then directly absorbed into the blood stream and by-passes the liver to avoid the production of harmful metabolites by the liver.
Please note that by applying topical yam or soy types of cream cannot give the same results as bio identical hormones as the body cannot convert it.
What is BHRT ?
Bio-identical hormones are derived from plants such as soy and Mexican wild yam which contain an active ingredient called Disogenin. Disogenin is similar in structure to cholesterol and using different extraction processes it can be converted to produce bioidentical hormones such as progesterone, pregnenolone, estradiol, estriol, testosterone, thyroid, dhea, melatonin etc
The chemical structure of BHRT is biologically identical to human hormones and also mimics the natural biological process as well. Taking Bioidentical hormones of the similar structure as the body produces is the only way to replace hormones safely.
